Ann’s ideas come through in her numerous sketches, which are done in either pencil, oil painting, or ink. Sometimes these doodles are nothing at all or become a springboard for another idea. An idea might be abandoned only to return to it when she sees a need in the market for that design. This process of exploration is fun and creative because nothing is off limits.

Once a drawing is created it is perfected by painting it over and over to paint the form in a way that will translate well as a design. Sometime several doodles are pulled together to make a design, or she will keep painting more aspects of the design to further the pattern.

Once a design has been painted to perfection, it is professionally scanned, and the image is manipulated in the computer. Often, several versions are created to make one design. Strike-offs are ordered, and we start working to approve layout, color, and scale before samples are finally printed.
